On Saturday, July 25th, 2020, as a community we were able to donate approximately 500 pieces of candy (courtesy of Dylan’s Candy Store) to His House orphanage. Here is what happened.
At 2:00 pm the BBOT interns congregated and were finally able meet each other in person, not just virtually, and we immediately started working.
We set up our 4 tables outside and began assembling the candy into bags. We also had the BBOT intern mothers give a helping hand. In total we wrapped approximately 60 bags of candy for the kids to enjoy.
The bags had a variety of sweet and sour candy, chocolate covered pretzels, fruit flavored jellybeans, multiple flavored gum, gummy animals (worms, bears, alligators) all with their own unique flavor, lollipops and fruit loops.

Due to COVID-19, we were not allowed to see the kids for the safety of themselves and our staff. But we enjoyed giving back to the community and working together for the sake of others.
We hope this will influence other young people to make a difference in their community and appreciate what you have and realize that nobody has the same advantages as we do. Ask yourself, “what am I doing for others around me?” and reach out to somebody and lend them a helping hand. A small act of kindness can make a bigger impact than you can imagine.
