Recap: Casual Conversation with Queen Jay on Facebook Live

On July 27, 2020 Janita Branch, of Purposed for a Purpose, hosted a Facebook Live with Jacqueline Louis a.k.a (Queen Jay) CEO of BBOT, where they discussed the organization’s goals, how BBOT was founded, childhood inspirations and more.

In the beginning of the Live Queen Jay talked about who inspired her during her childhood.

Since she was a young girl she had a lady in her church who was her support system. She credits her for being her ultimate support system even into adulthood. Jackie was also a part of a youth group calling them the “fantastic five” which inspired her to run ministries when she was a teenager.  The “fantastic five” empowered her because “they saw something in me that I couldn’t see in myself”.

After her high school years she worked in a doctor’s office for about a decade. During that time she met a woman who had casual conversation with her every time she went to visit someone in the hospital. Jackie shared her dream of creating a non-profit and the woman would repeatedly ask her why was she still working at the doctor’s office when she had a vision of creating an organization? After that talk Jackie immediately began working on her organization and that’s how BBOT came to be.

The next question was about the name.

Jackie said “it looks repetitive – Beautiful Beauties” but that’s what it is all about. “Being Beautiful is the New You!”,  she exclaims. BBOT wants to show women that it’s important to be beautiful not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. No matter how you look, it is important to be yourself.

Jackie started BBOT so her vision of every young girl in their program having a better future could come to fruition. Helping them in their education, with scholarships and tutoring, community service and mental health services all given by trained professionals. BBOT’s second goal is to go global with the help of another young woman who was interested in their program who lives all the way in Africa.  BBOT’s last and final goal is to gain new mentees.  The criteria for being a mentee is, “the only criteria is to have a heart to want to help someone”.

We also talked about the upcoming events such as the mentee pre-orientation and the Thanksgiving Drive. Jackie’s dream is to always give a helping hand to anybody she can. Right now, due to COVID- 19, BBOT has not officially announced the dates for the upcoming programs. Keeping all the mentees safe and secure are our primary concern at this time.
