On July 31st 2020 , BBOT held their first virtual 1+1 Mentee Orientation. Everyone who attended the orientation, and brought a friend who was interested in becoming a mentee, were entered into a raffle to win an Amazon gift card.
Over 30 participants attended the meeting to learn more about our mentoring programs, play games, and have fun!
Once we had all the participants ready our CEO greeted everyone and Elizabeth, our marketing intern, had everyone introduce themselves by saying their name and school they attended. We then played an ice breaker game led by one of our marketing interns, Lorena, where the kids had to pick a number 1-5 and answer a question based on that number. There were some easy questions such as, “what is your zodiac sign?” and some extremely hard ones like, “if you had to listen to one artist for the rest of your life who would it be?”. After breaking the ice, Attorney J and Queen Jay presented the mentee presentation about the organization.

- Our values
- Meet the CEO and staff members
- Upcoming events and programs
- Our requirements and expectations
- Registration fee and plan
- Photos from our past events
After we finished with the PowerPoint we had a fun, but challenging Kahoot! Game led by Krystal, another marketing intern (even the staff members had trouble 😊). The game had 10 questions and all of them were based on the presentation. With a perfect score of 10/10, a 4th grader named Zoe won.
We then had an easy and fun scavenger hunt, led by Elizabeth, where the attendees had to collect multiple items found in their house in 2 minutes such as a pillow, something with the letter M, glasses, family pictures etc. With an astonishing number of 11 items an attendee named Natavia won.
We then finished the orientation by announcing the winners of the raffle who were Celine, our intern, and Marilya.
